9th Annual Conference of Internal and External Auditors

On Thursday, 13 November 2025, the 9th Annual Conference of Internal and External Auditors took place at the Prague headquarters of the Supreme Audit Office. The event was organised by the Supreme Audit Office in cooperation with the Czech Institute of Internal Auditors, the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic, the Public Audit Oversight Board and the Ministry of Finance.

Jiří Diepolt, Inspector of the Public Audit Oversight Board, delivered a presentation entitled "Artificial Intelligence is Transforming Audit – The Transformation of Internal and External Audit in the AI Era". During his presentation, he introduced participants to the exponential growth in the adoption of AI technologies, specific applications of AI across different stages of the audit process, and identified seven key risks associated with the use of AI in auditing, including hallucinations, automation bias and breaches of data confidentiality.

He concluded his presentation with the statement: "AI is not the future – it is the present. 87% of organisations are already using AI. The question is not whether, but how to use it safely and effectively." According to him, governance and systematic AI risk management are essential prerequisites for the responsible use of these technologies in auditing.
