CEAOB ENFORCEMENT REPORT 2024
The CEAOB ("Committee of European Audit Oversight Bodies") approved, by means of a written procedure (per rollam), the report on enforcement activities in the field of statutory audit for 2023. The report has been published on the CEAOB website and provides a summary of sanctions imposed in individual EU Member States and three EFTA countries.
The report distinguishes between sanctions imposed for breaches of obligations related to statutory audits of public-interest entities and sanctions imposed for breaches of obligations in audits of other entities or for other auditors' obligations not directly related to the performance of statutory audits.
The report is prepared annually pursuant to Article 30(7) and (11) of Regulation (EU) No 537/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on specific requirements regarding statutory audit of public-interest entities and repealing Commission Decision 2005/909/EC. Its purpose is to enhance the exchange of information and professional expertise in the area of audit regulation.
The Public Audit Oversight Board actively contributes to the preparation of the report through its membership in the Enforcement Sub-group.
